Voice over Internet Protocol

Recently I was reading about VOIP. VOIP stands for Voice over Internet Protocol. This is a new technology with which you can make cheap phone calls over the internet. This technology was gaining more popularity these days. You can use your broadband connection to make long distance phone calls. There are 3 different ways to setup your VOIP connection. The first method is a computer to computer VOIP; the other methods are purchasing an analog telephone adapter and using an IP phone. Computer to computer VOIP can be used just by downloading a small software and it is very easy to setup. The analog telephone adapter can used to convert normal phone signals into signals that can be sent over the Internet. This method is also very cheap. The IP phones method will have an Ethernet card that is designed to be connected to broadband Internet connections.
